Religious Education

Religious Education for Grades K-8:

The Religious Education grades K-8 meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Holy Name School primary and secondary building. The textbook series used by the Religious Education program is Christ our Life. The program is sequential and develops an understanding of the basic teachings of our Catholic faith.

If you enjoy working with children, volunteering as a classroom catechist or classroom aide is for you. We have catechists and aides positions open for grades kindergarten through eighth grade.

If you would like to be a catechist, classroom aide or just help out in the classroom, contact Augustine Carrillo, at 672-2848 ext. 17.

Sunday Preschool-

This program is for 3 year olds, 4 year olds and kindergarten. The preschool program is during the 10:00a.m. Sunday mass. The children are called to the front of the church where Father gives a blessing and dismisses them with their teachers to the classroom. The children return after communion. The children will hear a Gospel story, sing songs, and do a small craft.

If you would like to help teach, please call Jeannie Konkel at 672-7037.

RCIC (Rite of Christian Initiation for Children)-
We are starting a new program this fall to help children who want to be baptized and taught the Catholic faith. They will be receiving the sacraments of initiation during the Easter Vigil. This will include the grades of 3rd and up. If you enjoy being around children and love to share your faith this ministry is for you! You may pick the day and time when you want to meet. If you would like to teach or help, please call Renee Cudney, the Religious Ed Coordinator, at 672-2848 ext 17.
